How many ADSL Filters are needed?

Wherever you intend to use your ADSL modem / router, connect the modem to the nearest ADSL filter's socket marked 'ADSL MODEM'.

In order for your ADSL filters to operate correctly, you will need to purchase sufficient ADSL filters in order to fit one to every device connected to your telephone line. This includes: all standard telephone handsets, DECT base stations, dial-up modems, fax-machines, burglar alarms, and don't forget to add one for the satellite receiver.

In the example home (right) a total of 6 ADSL filters would be required:
 1. Telephone handset 1
 2. Satellite receiver
 3. Fax machine
 4. Dial-up modem
 5. Telephone handset 2
 6. Burglar alarm (if connected to telephone line. If in doubt contact your installer.)
